● I am Sangeetha Ramesh, born and brought up in Chennai, and proudly living in the United States for the past 20 years.
● Professionally, I work as a Software Engineer, balancing a rewarding career alongside my passion for community service and cultural engagement. I am also a proud mother of two beautiful children, and through them, I deeply understand the importance of preserving our Tamil identity, language, and traditions for future generations.
● Over the years, volunteering and serving the Tamil community have become more than just responsibilities — they have become a meaningful part of my life’s journey. I strongly believe that our language and culture thrive when communities come together with unity, purpose, and dedication.
● For the last 2 years, I have had the privilege of serving as Secretary of Peachtree Tamil School. In this role, I have worked closely with teachers, parents, students, and volunteers to strengthen school operations, improve coordination, and support educational initiatives that promote Tamil language and culture among the younger generation.
My involvement with Greater Atlanta Tamil Sangam (GATS) over the last 5 years has provided me with valuable leadership and organizational experience.
In 2023 i was honored to be elected as treasurer and served in executive committee for 3 years and again elected as Treasurer second time in 2026.
As Treasurer, I have focused on maintaining financial transparency, accountability, and responsible management of resources while supporting various community initiatives and events. I strongly believe that transparency and trust are essential pillars of any successful organization.
In addition to my Treasurer responsibilities, I have actively contributed to multiple GATS committees and programs, including:
These experiences have allowed me to work collaboratively with volunteers, families, youth, and community leaders while understanding the diverse needs of our Tamil community.
My association with Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America (FeTNA) for the past 5 years has been a rewarding and inspiring experience.
FeTNA plays a vital role in connecting Tamil Sangams across North America and preserving our shared heritage.
For the past 3 years, I have been volunteering with FeTNA Kural Theni, contributing toward initiatives that celebrate Tamil language, literature, and talent.
Currently, I also serve as part of the Youth and Technology Team, where I work toward engaging younger generations and supporting technology-driven improvements in outreach and operations.
Through these opportunities, I have witnessed the incredible dedication of volunteers and leaders across North America who work tirelessly to keep Tamil culture vibrant and united.
I am contesting for the FeTNA Board of Directors position because I believe this is a meaningful opportunity to give back to the community that has shaped and inspired me for many years.
My vision is centered around strengthening FeTNA’s mission while preparing our organization for the future.
